Going by the reviews of this fan I was intrigued as to how good it actually is especially for the price.It is nicely presented in a box and the fan feels a nice weight the styling is good and it looks to be made well using nice quality plastics.The cable is a decent length and the USB plug appears to be well made too.On to the operation then so switching the fan between the three speeds is performed by pressing the small round button at the back. Press once for speed 1 again for speed 2 and lastly speed 3. Switching off is performed by pressing that button one more time.It will not remember the fan speed setting if you unplug it from the USB power source. Not an issue just something to point out.When the fan is spinning I now see where QC might not be as good.For my version at least the fan doesn’t seem to be fully mounted true on the motor. So when you turn it on you can actually see the fan wobble slightly on the spindle and also what is probably worse is that you can feel it vibrate!So it’s out of balance simple as that.What this means is that the fan is much nosier than it should be. This is a shame because in out open plan office it’s simply too noisy to use.It has this annoying hum/whine to it. It would also mean it would be far too noisy for use when trying to sleep as depicted on the advert pictures.Moving to speeds 2 and 3 is just far too distracting noise wise. Shame!As for moving air it does move a good amount of air and it is fairly good as directing this to you as well rather then out to the sides of the air channel.Tiling the fan up and down is nice and easy though you have defined positions where you an position it so if it’s a bit too high or low you will have to improvise by either raising or lowing the fan on something.Overall then for me I can only score it 3 stars. Two are certainly deducted for the unbalanced fan and resulting noise issues.I will probably return this and try a replacement.

For it’s size this unit offers great value for money. It comes with three settings and the fastest is ideal for hot nights or for sitting on a desk or table next to you. The other two settings are also pretty good from a light breeze to a stronger cooling action. The unit is also quiet and even the highest setting gives off only a slight white noise which actually helped me sleep. It’s powered by USB and there is no battery option although a power bank would be ideal. I bought one each for myself and my wife to have next to the bed although we are already considering a few more to be dotted around the house and home office.

I love this brand SmartDevil. I’ve had a few of these fans and they never fail to disappoint. I bought the smaller one a few years ago and it’s been fine and a good product. I decided this summer to get a better one slightly larger than the smaller one that was released about two years ago. I can’t say anything bad about it. It does exactly what it says. Blows out very large volume of air for the size I’m often at my desk doing work and I don’t know how I could do without it. It’s virtually noiseless well worth the money just get one you won’t be unhappy with it. SmartDevil is a really top quality brand.

The fan is good I wouldn’t say it’s silent quiet-ish! High speed is relatively noisy.My biggest gripe is the speed setting button. I purchased to run alongside my fish tanks heater controller when if it got too hot this fan would come on! But due to the one button on speed 1 speed 2 speed 3 setting if the power goes off it won’t remember the last setting. Therefore it’s won’t work with a a timer. So for me it’s always on or off.
