You know you’re getting old when you leave a five star review on a vegetable peeler… But saying that it works extremely well and makes it so easy to cut nice strips of vegetables to mix in salads etc. Much better than the cheap peeler that it replaced. Anyway I’m off to put on my dressing gown and slippers and have a nice cup of hot cocoa before bed.

Works well but very very easy to cut yourself. It comes with a ‘safety cover’ which when I first flipped it up managed to slice my thumb. Use with extreme caution!If you can manage to use it it makes a beautiful job of creating lovely thin strips of vegetables perfect for stir fry and salad.And yes I read all the reviews that said it was easy to cut yourself and no I didn’t believe them!

THIS GADGET DOES EXACTLY WHAT IT ADVERTISES AND IS SO EASY TO USE.THE GRIP IS GOOD EVEN FOR MY OLD AND ARTHRITIC HANDS.THE ONLY THING TO BE CAREFUL OF ARE THE BLADES WHEN NOT IN USE. THEY ARE VERY SHARP SO BE CAREFUL WHEN PICKING THEM UP ESPECIALLY IF LIKE ME HAVE POOR EYESIGHT.

Oh what a let down I wanted this to be as good as the reviews especially as it’s a fairly simple contraption but I found it to be a bit useless.It didn’t julienne anything properly and just hacked the vegetables to pieces which then got horrendously stuck and a nightmare to get the pieces out… it’s a peeler it shouldn’t be this difficult and it’s not exactly rocket science to use one either but just simpler drawing it back over a carrot was a nightmare.Maybe I got one that was just rubbish but I didn’t like this at all.

I want to begin this Review with an apology to some of my fellow reviewers. When I read reports of it being extremely easy to injure oneself … I scoffed at their apparent lack of skill in using such a simple tool … I WAS WRONG. The blade does not glide through the vegetable easily – it requires some force. This means one has to take a good grip on the vegetable to counter the force of pulling the blades through the vegetable(the image of someone using it on a carrot is unrealistic). I tried it on a carrot and a potato – with similar poor results. Expect to throw away almost half of each vegetable – and even then you risk injuring your fingers unless you proceed with extreme caution. ‘Ergonomic’ … it most definitely is NOT. I am unable to recommend this item.
